Medical disclaimer

Last updated 20 July 2026

This page is a plain-language draft written by the Back At It team. It has not yet been reviewed by a lawyer. We are publishing it because being clear with you now beats saying nothing, and we will update it once counsel has been through it.

Back At It is not medical care. It is a fitness and wellness app. It is not a doctor, a dietitian, a nurse, a therapist, or any other kind of licensed healthcare provider, and it does not give medical advice. Nothing here diagnoses a condition, treats a condition, or tells you what care you need.

Everything here is a suggestion, not a direction

The numbers this app shows you are estimates built from general formulas and population averages. Calorie targets, macros, body fat percentages, calories burned, electrolyte and fiber amounts, supplement ideas, workouts, sleep windows and meal suggestions are all starting points for a healthy adult. They are not tailored to your medical history, and nobody at Back At It has examined you. Your own body may need something completely different, and you are free to ignore any of it.

Please talk to your doctor first

Speak with your doctor or another licensed healthcare provider before you start a new exercise routine, change what you eat, begin or stop a supplement, or make any decision about your health based on something you saw in this app. That matters especially if any of these apply to you:

  • You are pregnant or trying to become pregnant
  • You have a heart condition, or high or low blood pressure
  • You have diabetes, or kidney or liver problems
  • You have an eating disorder, or a history of one
  • You take any prescription medication
  • You are recovering from an injury, surgery or illness

We never advise on medication

If you enter medications, hormone therapy, injections or supplements into Back At It, we store them so you can look at your own history and jog your memory. That is all. We do not tell you what to take, how much to take, when to start or when to stop. Those decisions belong to you and your prescriber, and nothing you see here should change what your prescriber told you.

We do not read your results

If you log lab work, blood pressure, blood sugar or symptoms, the app may show a general reference range so you can see your own numbers over time. Those ranges are generic. They are not your lab's ranges, they are not a reading of your results, and a number landing outside a range is not a diagnosis. Only your doctor can tell you what your results mean.

Food, allergies and suggestions

Recipe and restaurant information comes from third-party databases. Ingredient lists and diet labels are not always complete or up to date. We flag recipes that look like they contain common allergens, and we flag anything matching allergies you have told us about, but that check is not reliable enough to trust on its own. We cannot promise any recipe or menu item is free of an allergen. If you react to something, read the ingredients yourself or ask the restaurant before you eat.

In an emergency, do not use this app

If you think you are having a medical emergency, call 911 or go to your nearest emergency room right now. Do not wait, and do not rely on anything in Back At It.

You use Back At It at your own risk

Exercise and changes to how you eat carry a real risk of injury or illness. By using Back At It you accept that risk. Stop straight away and get medical help if you feel chest pain, dizziness, shortness of breath, faintness, or any pain that does not feel like normal training effort. To the fullest extent the law allows, Back At It and its owners are not liable for any injury, illness or loss that results from following any suggestion in this app.
